White bread, great for sandwiches!
Overview
Yield: 2 (big) loaves
Ingredients
Dough
- 4.5tsp instant yeast
- .75cup + 2.67 cup warm water
- .25cup granulated sugar
- 1tbsp salt
- 3tbsp unsalted butter, room temp, cubed
- 9.5cup AP flour
- 3tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Steps
Day before
- In stand mixer bowl mix .75 cups warm water and instant yeast, wait a couple minutes
- Add in sugar, salt, cubed butter, and 5 cups flour
- Using paddle attachment, mix until well combined
- Switch to dough hook on low, and add 1 cup at a time to mix, wait to combine before adding more
- Butter inside of large bowl, place loaf inside, cover, and let rise for 45 minutes (it will get a lot bigger)
- Punch down dough and divide into 2 equal pieces
- Grease 2 standard loaf pans with butter
- Pat into 9"x12" rectangle, roll up rectangle from short end, pinch sides and tuck under, place into loaf pans
- Cover and let rise for additional 30 minutes
- Preheat oven to 400°F
- Bake for 35 minutes, rotating trays when halfway through
- Remove from oven, move to cooling rack, wait until completely cool before slicing.
